The AAS honours and pays respects to Uncle Archie Roach, Gunditjmara (Kirrae Whurrong/Djab Wurrung) and Bundjalung Senior Elder, song man, storyteller, and Indigenous advocate, who passed away last week.
In his lifelong career, Archie made tremendous contributions to Australian music and culture. His songs, including Took the Children Away and Down City Streets (written by his life partner, Ruby Hunter) are and will remain widely celebrated.
PBS Radio have honoured Archie Roach with a series of videos, live recordings, photos, interviews, and an article featuring his work.
We express our condolences to his friends, family, and community.
